“THE LAST DAYS.” 2Tim.3, and the promise of His coming. (4b).

Standard

Revelation, the last book of the Bible is almost completely about the last days. It is prophetic, but we must be careful with prophecies. The apostle Peter writes, “For prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit.” 2Pe.1:18. But he also wrote in 1Pe.1:10-11, “10 Of this salvation the prophets have inquired and searched carefully, who prophesied of the grace that would come to you, 11 searching what, or what manner of time, the Spirit of Christ who was in them was indicating when He testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ and the glories that would follow.” The prophets did not always understand what they were writing. This was certainly true of the apostle John writing Revelation, check for yourself how often John asks a question to explain something. I wrote in my second post about the image that was to be made and that the image would be able to speak. John knew all about images, but he had never seen or heard one that could speak. Knowing about robots in our time, it is easily understood what is meant. He must have wondered about the 200 million soldiers that are going to come from the East and cross the dried-up Euphrates, while there were only 300 million people on the whole earth at that time. With the size of China there will not be a problem getting an army of 200 million together. For us to read of these things tells us the time of Christ’s return is sure getting closer, maybe closer than we realize. Are you ready for His coming? Isaiah 38,In those days Hezekiah was sick and near death. And Isaiah the prophet, the son of Amoz, went to him and said to him, “Thus says the Lord: ‘Set your house in order, for you shall die and not live.” We are all going to die, is our house in order? Our spiritual house? Have we surrendered to the Lord? Are there people whom we have never forgiven? Are you ready to stand before God’s throne? (To be continued).
