HAVERKAMP UPDATE

Standard

For friends and relatives who are interested, here is the latest. I just came from a wonderful retirement home that has two sections, one for regular residents, and a section called TCU, Transitionary Care Unit. People come here from home or hospital and wait for a place to open up in the Homes they have selected. We are hoping and praying that a place will be found where there is assisted living and Long Term Care, so that Marina and I can be in the same building. There are usually 10 people in the unit, so there is much personal care. I will be visiting twice a day, and I can even stay from 8 am until 4 pm. It was a difficult decision to make, but I listened to our doctor and other professional people who specialize in dementia. I also asked the Lord to stop me if this was not His will. Amazingly, we got this room, even though there are several thousand people looking for a place. Thank you, Lord. Marina will be moving in soon and talking to the staff I’m so glad she will be in good and loving hands and getting professional care. If you have any questions, please contact me. Blessings to you all.

AMAZING.

Diamond wedding anniversary.

Yesterday, Wednesday, Sept.14, Les Frey drove me to the hospital in Guelph.

I was made ready for the abdominal aorta aneurysm surgery, which took place

from about 11 am until almost 3pm.

Today, Thursday, Sept. 15, our Dimond wedding day, Les came to pick me up at

1.15 pm and drove me home. Marina and I both had a bit of a rest and then Les took us to Waterloo for our anniversary celebration, and later picked us up again too.

How wonderful that in spite of these physical problems, we were able to be together and celebrate God’s goodness over the years. We thanked Him for His protection and provisions all these years. All glory to Him. Blessed be the name of the Lord, hallelujah.
