“THE LAST DAYS.” 2Tim.3, and the promise of His coming. (1).

Standard

We have been living in ‘The Last Days’ since the ascension of Jesus. Some say we are now living in the last of the last days and they could be right. I am certainly living in my last days, how many I have left, only the Lord knows, as the Psalmist writes, “My times are in Your hands.” I’m not able to preach anymore due to mental and physical weakness, but I am still able to use my computer even though in a limited way. I would very much like to share some thoughts I have about The Last Days, I’ll have to do that in short pieces as I can’t be on my pc very long. Let’s look at Matth.24 where Jesus is talking about the end of this age. He names a number of signs, for example, “You will hear of wars and rumors of wars.” People say, yes, but there have always been wars, which is true, but the word that strikes me is “HEAR”. When a 150 years ago, there was a war on the other side of the world, we wouldn’t hear about it, but now we do. Later on, He says, “For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be. And unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved; but for the elect’s sake those days will be shortened.” In other words, if God were not to intervene, mankind would be totally destroyed. This is the first time in human history that there are enough weapons, nuclear, to destroy the whole human race. (to be continued).

Many people are familiar with end time signs, like famines, earthquakes, wars, turmoil, immorality, etc. But, some say, these things have always been, which is true, but not on the scale which we see now. And of course, many more people are affected because there are so many more people on the earth, over eight billion, at the time of Jesus there were about 300 million. I want to mention a few things that are new for our time. For example, I’m thinking of technology, especially AI, of which I am afraid, which can certainly be used for good, but also for evil. Personally, I believe that AI will be the instrument of the anti-christ with which he will subdue all people. In fact, it is very interesting what we read in the book Revelation, 13:14,15, “And he deceives ]those who dwell on the earth by those signs which he was granted to do in the sight of the beast, telling those who dwell on the earth to make an IMAGE to the beast who was wounded by the sword and lived. 15 He was granted power to give breath to the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak and cause as many as would not worship the image of the beast to be killed.” A modern-day ROBOT, which can both speak and act like a human, how about that? Have you seen pictures of robots? They scare me. Are we getting closer to the coming of Christ and are you ready? (to be continued).

“THE LAST DAYS.” 2Tim.3, and the promise of His coming. (3).

It wouldn’t surprise me if some of you smiled at the end of my last message, where I mentioned a Robot. Some of you may have reacted, ‘Richard is fantasizing.’ No, I wasn’t, I was dead serious. You see I wondered about the apostle John writing about an image that could speak. He knew all about images, all through history men have been making images. In Psalm 115:4-7, it says, “Their idols are silver and gold, The work of men’s hands. They have mouths, but they do not speak; Eyes they have, but they do not see; They have ears, but they do not hear; Noses they have, but they do not smell;  They have hands, but they do not handle; Feet they have, but they do not walk; Nor do they mutter through their throat.” And now John writes about an image that could speak, amazing, the first time in history that there is an image like that. But there are more amazing things pointing to the end time, in fact I’m going to give you a date. In Rev.9:16, an army of 200 million is mentioned. Then in Rev.16:12, “Then the sixth angel poured out his bowl on the great river Euphrates, and its water was dried up, so that the way of the kings from the east might be prepared.” What about the river Euphrates, is it drying up now already? I asked Google and this is what I found, “The Euphrates River is experiencing severe, rapid decline, with the Iraqi Ministry of Water Resources warning it could dry up by 2040. This projection is driven by climate change, decreasing rainfall, and water mismanagement, which have caused water levels to drop to record lows.” Very interesting, but we need to be careful, Richard 1:1, “We’ll see.” (To be continued).
